About

Strengthening Instructional Leadership Through Organizational Insight.

Impact Ed Solutions exists to help school and district leaders strengthen instructional leadership through data-informed decision making, leadership learning, and organizational insight.

Mission

To equip educational leaders with the frameworks, evidence, and community they need to make better organizational decisions about instruction.

Vision

A future where every school leadership team has the organizational clarity to ensure that what students experience in classrooms is consistent, intentional, and excellent.

Purpose

We believe instructional improvement stalls not because of effort, but because of visibility. Impact Ed Solutions provides the lens that makes instructional patterns visible to leadership.

Core Values

What guides our work.

Evidence Over Assumption

Every recommendation, insight, and framework we produce is grounded in instructional evidence, not opinion.

Clarity Over Complexity

We make the complex visible. Our work translates dense instructional data into clear organizational understanding.

Leadership Over Compliance

We serve leaders who want to understand their organizations, not just evaluate them.

Community Over Isolation

Educational leadership is demanding work. We build spaces where leaders think together.

Solutions

Our Flagship:
SchoolScan™

An instructional insight methodology that transforms classroom observation evidence into actionable leadership intelligence.

What SchoolScan™ Does

Turns the data schools already collect into insight leadership teams can act on.

Schools conduct walkthroughs and evaluations every cycle. The evidence accumulates, but the instructional patterns inside it remain invisible to leadership teams.

SchoolScan™ reads that evidence for cross-classroom trends, implementation gaps, and organizational patterns that internal teams are not positioned to see.

The result is a structured Leadership Insight Report with findings, pattern analysis, and strategic recommendations designed for leadership use.

How It Works
01

Schools submit walkthrough and evaluation evidence

02

SchoolScan™ reviews instructional and organizational patterns

03

Implementation gaps and leadership trends are identified

04

Schools receive a Leadership Insight Report

05

Leadership teams participate in a strategic debrief session

Why Instructional Coaching Does Not Transfer

A coaching session goes well. The feedback is clear. And then nothing changes in the classroom. This is not a coaching problem. It is an organizational conditions problem.

"When coaching exists inside an organization that has not aligned its expectations around the same instructional priorities the coach is working on, the coaching has nowhere to land."

Dr. Shelonda Tillman

Ed.D., Organizational Leadership

Dr. Tillman founded Impact Ed Solutions on a single conviction: schools do not lack instructional data. They lack the organizational frameworks to interpret what the data is telling them.

With more than 25 years of experience across DC public and charter schools, her career spans classroom teaching, curriculum development, instructional coaching, and organizational leadership. She has read thousands of classroom observations across every major instructional framework used in urban education.

That volume of pattern recognition became the foundation of SchoolScan™, the company's flagship instructional review methodology, and the lens through which all of Impact Ed Solutions' work is built.

"I kept seeing the same instructional patterns across different schools, different frameworks, different leaders. The evidence was showing it. Nobody had organized a way to read it. That is why I built this company."

Her doctoral research examined the relationship between teacher turnover, certification, and student achievement in charter schools. That research deepened the analytical lens she brings to every leadership conversation.

Today, through Impact Ed Solutions, Dr. Tillman publishes executive insights on instructional leadership, speaks at conferences and leadership summits, leads SchoolScan™ instructional reviews, and is building a national community of educational leaders committed to organizational clarity.
