What We Do

We do not collect data. We diagnose instructional systems.
Schools make better decisions when they understand the condition first.

Schools already collect the evidence: observations, walkthroughs, evaluations, coaching notes. SchoolScan™ synthesizes that evidence into one clear diagnosis of instructional health, so leadership knows exactly where to focus and why.

About

The Company Behind the First Instructional Diagnostic System for Schools.

Impact Ed Solutions exists because schools deserve a diagnosis before a prescription.

Mission

To ensure every school leadership team has access to a clear, evidence-based diagnosis of their instructional system before making improvement decisions.

Vision

A future where no school prescribes solutions without first diagnosing the instructional condition. Where every leadership decision begins with understanding, not assumption.

Purpose

Schools fail to improve not because of effort, but because of diagnosis. Leadership teams work harder without knowing whether the effort is aimed at the right condition. We provide the diagnostic clarity that makes improvement disciplined.

Core Values

What guides our work.

Evidence Over Assumption

Every recommendation and finding is grounded in instructional evidence. We do not speculate. We diagnose.

Diagnosis Over Prescription

We never recommend treatment before understanding the condition. Schools deserve the same diagnostic discipline as medicine.

Leadership Over Compliance

We serve leaders who want to understand their instructional systems, not leaders who want to check a box.

Community Over Isolation

Educational leadership is demanding work. We build spaces where leaders think together with honesty and depth.

Our Flagship

SchoolScan™
Instructional Diagnostics

The first instructional diagnostic system for schools. Just as physicians diagnose before prescribing, SchoolScan synthesizes classroom observations into a comprehensive instructional health assessment.

Diagnosis before treatment

Your school already has the evidence. SchoolScan reads it diagnostically.

Schools collect formal observations, walkthroughs, coaching notes, and evaluations every cycle. The evidence is everywhere. But no one synthesizes it into one diagnosis of instructional health.

SchoolScan reads that evidence for instructional vital signs, underlying conditions, and systemic patterns that leadership teams are not positioned to see on their own.

The result is a comprehensive Instructional Health Report with a clear diagnosis, identified conditions, a leadership treatment plan, and a quarterly follow-up schedule.

Why Instructional Coaching Does Not Transfer

A coaching session goes well. The feedback is clear. And then nothing changes in the classroom. This is not a coaching problem. It is a diagnostic problem. The instructional condition was never identified before treatment was prescribed.

"When coaching exists inside a system that has not been diagnosed, the coaching has nowhere to land. You are prescribing treatment for a condition no one has identified."

Founder & CEO

Dr. Shelonda Tillman

Ed.D., Organizational Leadership

Dr. Tillman founded Impact Ed Solutions on a conviction that changed her career: schools do not lack instructional data. They lack a diagnosis.

With more than 25 years of experience across DC public and charter schools, her career spans classroom teaching, curriculum development, instructional coaching, and organizational leadership. She has read thousands of classroom observations across every major instructional framework used in urban education.

That volume of pattern recognition became the foundation of SchoolScan™, the company's flagship instructional diagnostic system.

"I kept seeing the same instructional patterns across different schools, different frameworks, different leaders. The evidence was showing it. Nobody had organized a way to diagnose it. That is why I built this company."

Today, through Impact Ed Solutions, Dr. Tillman publishes executive insights on instructional leadership, speaks at national conferences, leads SchoolScan™ instructional diagnostics, and is building a community of educational leaders committed to leading with evidence.
